There is no AI here ...
After years of experience, I increasingly doubt whether artificial intelligence is helpful in the field of communication.
For your information: the newsletters that are sent out via this website are sent via professional mailing software. Until recently, you could register via a form. After the last version change of the mailing software, I was (once again) overwhelmed by a mass registration by robots (AI). I then removed the form after spending a lot of time over the past few years protecting myself and you from spammers. However, as the robots become more and more intelligent, the programmable protective wall must also become more and more intelligent. The consequence of this is that I would have to put captchas in front of you when you use a registration form.
Captchas are those things where you are asked to solve picture puzzles. In case you don't know, most captchas on the internet belong to Google and are free of charge for the website operator. This makes sense for Google, as captchas are used to train AI in image recognition. In other words, with every image puzzle you solve along the lines of “how-many-traffic-lights-do-you-see-here”, you are doing unpaid work, making Google's robots (or those of smaller companies) a little smarter and the providers a little more powerful.
We are increasingly being drawn into a game that is not our game. Not playing along certainly requires a little more effort, but at the same time it is a signal to reject the game of dehumanization.
