Auf der Suche nach Latin-HippHopp-Rhythmen bin ich mal wieder so halbwegs fuendig geworden. Yerba Buena heisst die neue Supertruppe ("critically acclaimed"), die allerdings nicht ganz so super ist, wie die Plattenfirma glauben machen mag. Fast die Haelfte der 12 Songs driften in eintoenigen LatinRap ab, und von der anderen Haelfte ist gerade mal die Haelfte bemerkenswert. Die hat's aber in sich! Allen voran der Opener Guajira (I Love U 2 Much), ein klasse LatinRap mit SonMontuno-Elementen. Hat das Zeug zum Superhit! Die Technocumbia Solito Me Quede erinnert stark an Celso Pinas Cumbia Sobre El Rio und hat darueber hinaus noch was von Manu Chao. Auch Electric Boogaloo ist als LatinPopCha gut gelungen und witzig. Das war's dann aber auch schon; der Rest duerfte allenfalls eingefleischte Rapper befriedigen.
