Wer UN TANGO MÁS live erlebt hat, den wird diese irisierende Mischung aus Tango Nuevo, Jazz und klassischen Elementen nicht mehr loslassen.
Sechs Musiker mit ausgeprägtem Hang zu Improvisation und Experiment verströmen gleichermaßen Melancholie und unbändige Lebensfreude, begleiten ihr Publikum auf einem Trip vom Salon des Grand Hotels in die nächste Absteige und zurück.
Tango klingt hier so raffiniert und "schmutzig" wie 1890 in Buenos Aires, jedoch bereichert um musikalische Dimensionen, die die Widersprüche des heutigen Alltags spiegeln. UN TANGO MÁS zeigt nichts weniger als die Geschichte und Zukunft des Tango.
Zum Programm des sechsköpfigen Ensembles gehören Klassiker des argentinischen Tangos von Carlos Gardel in zeitgemäßen Arrangements, Original-Kompositionen von Astor Piazzolla und zahlreiche Eigenkompositionen. Damit schreibt UN TANGO MÁS die Geschichte des Tangos fort in unsere Zeit.
Neue Kompositionen wie Antje Vetters "Gran Ciudad", "El Tiempo Vuela" und "El Fin Del Verano", Sónnica Yepes' "Sientes", Alexander Morseys "French Fries" und Thomas Hanz' "Esperatango" vermischen Tango mit Elementen aus so unterschiedlichen Stilen wie modernem Valse Musette, brasilianischer und zeitgenössischer Musik.
Sechs ausdrucksstarke Musiker nutzen ihre Virtuosität, um einen besonderen Gruppenklang zu schaffen. Dadurch, dass das Bandoneon durch ein Akkordeon, und die E-Gitarre durch eine Konzertgitarre ersetzt wird, entsteht eine ganz eigene Klangfarbe, auf die die warme und wandlungsfähige Stimme von Sónnica Yepes zusätzliche Glanzlichter setzt.

una caprichosa mezcla de tango nuevo, jazz y música de cámara, de temas clásicos del tango y de composiciones propias, interpretadas con seriedad , otras veces con mucho sentido del humor, y a menudo con mucha travesura. Siempre con intensidad, entre la melancolía y la pasión; música que toca profundamente. Entusiasmados estaban los 350 oyentes. Lleno hasta la bandera y además con visita del canal de televisión WDR.

Todos los espectadores estaban de acuerdo: lo que estaba ocurriendo en el teatro de la antigua estación de tren no lo habían experimentado hasta ese momento. Con una combinación de baile y la música de los grandes Piazzola y Gardel, Un tango más transportó el teatro de la antigua estación al bochornoso verano de Buenos Aires. Y allí se encontraba repleto el bar del puerto, con un bandoneonista cubierto de sudor ; allí brillaban los ojos , algunos de ellos llenos de odio y otros de un apasionado erotismo.

Donde se perdieron las huellas del gran reformador del tango (Astor Piazzola), echan a andar con valentía estos músicos de Essen, por caminos nuevos, con armonías atrevidas e improvisaciones libres. Lo especial de este sexteto es que sus componentes no sólo interpretan sino que también componen, hacen arreglos y escriben textos. De este modo Un tango más consigue alcanzar un lenguaje muy particular: el de un tango fresco nacido en el corazón de la región del Ruhr alemán.
WDR 5 - Resonanzen
Un sexteto que, en variadas facetas ,describe una belleza rigurosa, hablando de la risa y del llanto ,del enamoramiento y de la soledad , del apasionado amor por la vida pero también de la muerte. La música de un instrumento a solas como la del conjunto entero llegaba siempre a dar un sonido mágico, una técnica brillante y un refinamiento rítmico, un sonido global de discretas armonías coloristas.

El resultado es un sonido muy transparente y espacioso, con unísonos ; la arquitectura de los gustos musicales de cada uno de los componentes del grupo abierta de puertas. Estos abarcan desde motivos vanguardistas, juegos con disonancias, hasta una brisa cálida de jazz latino. Un proyecto con ambiciones , valiente y de una simpática osadía.
