Dear friends of Latin American music and culture!
You probably know that there will be a Salsafestival in Hamburg soon. The 2.
International Salsafestival in Hamburg takes place 16./17./18 July 2004 im
CCH (Congress Centrum Hamburg)/ Radisson SAS Hotel close to the railway
station “Dammtor”. So there is still some time to book a festival/ train/ plane/
bus ticket, to look for your prettiest outfit, to clean your shoes and to inform all
your Salsa-friends. Here you can find more information about the workshops

Like last year, “Danza y Movimiento” will have a stall at the festival, where you
can have a look at many of our CDs and were you will also find a lot of bargain
CDs (we know, a festival weekend can be quite expensive :-)
We would also like to invite you to visit our shop in Neanderstr. 41 on
Saturday. We have hundreds of Latin CDs in the shop. You can listen to them,
take a catalogue, have a look at our books, DVDs and videos. People from
outside Hamburg are always surprised by our CD offer. No wonder: there are
hardly any good world music shops around any more. The opening hours on
Saturday are 12-16 (Friday 15-18). We can give you detailed information at the
festival stall. By the way: it is easy to get to our shop walking when you start at
the CCH. It is a nice stroll through the park “Planten un Blomen” (direction
harbour). Or you can take the bus 112 from Stephansplatz, two stops till
“Handwerkskammer”.
It is always worth coming to our shop - not only during the festival. Here, we
would like to present some Salsa highlights to you:
Manolito y su Trabuco: Locos por mi Habana
Everybody knows the evergreen “Marcando la distancia” by Manolito y su
Trabuco. Manolito is one of the top stars from Cuba and he always guarantees
hot Salsa/ Timba. Some of his recent productions were not as convincing as his
old stuff, but “Locos por mi Habana” gets back to the high quality roots.

Quinto Mayor: Montuno al Piso
Salsa from Colombia, produced by Diego Galé, a musical institution for
decades now. This CD is the third one by Quinto Mayor and like the first two
CDs (Salsa con Golpe and Salsa con Golpe II) it contains wonderful Salsa
tracks.
