1. Portenos y Gringos - New CD by Jürgen Schwenkglenks
There is a new CD by the label “Danza y Movimiento”. Of course, our own
releases are something very special to us, and the new work by Jürgen
Schwenkglenks is not only interesting for the Tango community.
Stefan Franzen writes about it in the magazine Jazzthing:
“Tango from Bavaria is not part of the regular menu of Música Latina.
Guitarist and composer Jürgen Schwenkglenks is from Passau, but he also
has excellent connections to the Rio de la Plata, a part of his second CD was
recorded in Buenos Aires and he leaves the intro to the bandoneon player
Quena Taborda for a solo recital. But then he takes you to a journey through
valses and milongas he composed himself.
They all have an airy, chamber music-like face- Schwenkglenks and Co.
rather create the intimate introspective and not the rousing affect. Afro
interludes with percussion and cello cause barbs, a nice Chorinho with a
chuckling clarinet is included to show the admiration to the old Rio- The
impressionistic "Central Partk" has an elaborate soundtrack character. An
exciting connection from the river Danube to the New Worlds.

CHI CHI PERALTA - Mas Que Suficiente
The former conga player of Juan Luis Guerra`s band 4:40 from Santo
Domingo has created a very convincing 4th CD and a multifacetted musical
style. The songs include Caribbean, African and even Brazilian rhythms,
which are put accross perfectly by Chi Chi on the vocal level. Surely one of
the last summer CDs this year.

SEU JORGE - Cru
The renowned Brazlian actor Seu Jorge, last seen as the "musician aboard"
in the movie "Deep Sea Divers" with Bill Murray, had been a great
musician long before his film career started. This, his second, CD will
hopefully give him the well deserved attention of Europe. The songs are
characterised by his pleasantly rough voice and the experienced control of
the guitar. There is soft Bossa Nova as well as danceable pop music.

SEU JORGE - Cru
WILLY CHIRINO - Cubanisimo (CD & DVD)
Again, Willy Chirino underlines the attachment to his motherland CUBA.
This CD is therefore a BEST OF... of his "Cuban" songs. This is no Salsa
Cubana, but the lyrics deal entirely with the topic CUBA, politically and
socialistically. But the music is wonderful Salsa at its best !!! The DVD
includes 5 videos and a “Making of...”-documentation of the video ‘El
Diablo Llego’
