Bandleader Alex Puentes starts with his Debut-CD a new-born serie called
“CUBA AHORA Series”.
The aim of it is true and simple: Crossing the roots of cuban music (mostly
modern Son, no Timba) with youthful pop-music inspiration.
Friends of cuban music or just fine hand-made music with latin-rythms will
surely herewith get one of their favourit CDs in 2005.

Strange combination, that nobody came up with so far.
The smooth Bachata-guitar mixed together with heavy Reggaeton-beats,
and that works incredibly fantastic.
When you are listening to this mariachi trumpet that occures in track
#6 “Mi Amor Perdido” you will have the musically meeting of Mexico,
Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic on one CD perfectly done.

This Tango-quintett offers very interesting instrumental Tangos, that are
mainly introducing NO bandoneon but the BAJAN (accordion) as leading
instrument. The sound is almost similar to the bandoneon but the musician
can perform with more space and therefore in a very unique way.
This caused very own interpretation of Tango-Classics like “Libertango”,
“Milonga De Mis Amores” and more.

SEIS LUCES - Tango Bizarro
Alejandro Fernandez Lecce is SEIS LUCES and with him an new star of
Tango-Electronic is born!
His creation of Tangos with only his sampler and a few instruments is
comparable with OTROS AIRES, but often more amusing and cheeky.
He is mixing piano, bandoneon, accordion with trombone and saxophone,
but always concentrated on being danceable.

ORQUESTA TIPICA IMPERIAL - Ruidos Molestos
Like FERNANDEZ FIERRO and EL ARRANQUE this argentine orchestra
is consisting of young musicians interesting in TANGO CLASSICO.
Besides their own compositions they are presenting fine tangos of
CANARO and DE CARO.
After their short but successful european-tour we now have their
CD on sale.

QUASIMODO TRIO - Quasimodo Trio
Trios are hardly ever found in tango and often creating due to their minimal
instrumentation a mix of TANGO/FREE-JAZZ.
Daniel Ruggiero, band-leader of QUASIMODO TRIO, is always
keeping an eye of the tango while playing his combination of
JAZZ/TANGO.
Maybe in remembrance of his father OSVALDO RUGGIERO
(bandoneonist in the Osvaldo Pugliese-orchestra) ?!!
