New and interesting: Tango
Dear friends of Caribbean and South American Music!
Again, we would like to draw your attention to some CDs, which are not exactly classical tango, but which are very interesting. As usual, you can read the names of the songs and listen to the tracks using the corresponding link:
Juan Carlos Caceres: Best Of 1958-2003 - From Buenos Aires to Paris The Argentinian artist living in France has become quite famous in the recent years. His former CDs “Tango Negro” und “Toca Tango” are still very popular and his “Tango Negro” became a suprising success during last years Tango Festival in Hamburg. Tangueros from all over the world asked for the name of this magnificent artist. This Best-of album presents Caceres characteristic tango-candombe, but also Jazz tracks from the beginning of his musical career.

Varios: Bajofondo Tango Club The CD “La Revancha del Tango” by Gotan Project was one of the big surprises of 2001/2002 and it is known by many tango fans. Some of them do not like this modern version of tango at all, others are simply faszinated by the mixture of tango and electronic and they can now enjoy a new recording. We present the Bajofondo Tango Club, which has just arrived from Buenos Aires. The cooperation of musicians from different genres (don’t miss Adriana Varela in “Perfume” and “Mi corazón”) wanted to create a mixture of “tradition, experimentation and surprise”. Well, we think they managed. What is your opinion?
